Rich text formatting in recipes

Rich text formatting in recipes

Recipe descriptions and instructions now support rich text formatting. Add clickable links, bulleted lists, and other formatting to make your recipes more expressive.

To support these changes, the recipe form now features improved text editors. If you prefer writing in Markdown, you can easily switch modes using the toggle in the top right of the editor.

Automatically import a recipe into the calculator

Automatically import a recipe into the calculator

For a limited time, all users get 20 recipe text imports each month (for free!).

It has never been easier to get your recipes into Scoopulator.

With the new recipe text import feature, simply paste a recipe's ingredient list into the calculator, and Scoopulator will do the rest. The system will parse the text, identify ingredients, suggest matches from the database, and convert any detected quantities to grams before adding them to your recipe.

Each detected line stays editable during review, so it's easy to correct any misidentified ingredients or quantities before finalizing the import. Missing an ingredient? No problem! You can create a new one without leaving the import flow.

Copy recipes as text

Copy recipes as text

Published recipes can now be copied as text from the recipe details page, making it simple to share or save recipes anywhere. Recipes may be copied as plain text or in Markdown format.

To demonstrate, here is a recipe for Mexican Hot Chocolate Ice Cream (a favorite of mine):

Scale recipes directly from the recipe details page

Recipe details now include built-in scaling controls, so ingredient amounts can be adjusted without leaving the page (or breaking out the calculator).

Use the preset buttons for common batch sizes, or switch to Custom to scale the recipe to an exact target weight in grams.

Your selected scale is remembered, so recipes stay sized for your ice cream maker.

Getting started guide on the calculator page

Being introduced to an ice cream calculator for the first time can be overwhelming. To help get new users up to speed, the calculator page now includes a Getting started section which appears when your recipe is empty. This guide walks you through the full workflow of using the calculator, from choosing a target profile, to adding ingredients, to processing your first batch of ice cream.

Create ingredients from nutrition facts

Create ingredients from nutrition facts

Custom ingredients can now be created from a Nutrition Facts label. Enter the serving size and label values, and Scoopulator will calculate everything else automatically.

Ingredients now support stabilizer percentage

When creating an ingredient, you can now specify the stabilizer percentage. This makes it possible to accurately model stabilizer blends, or ingredients which include small amounts of stabilizer.

Neutro, a popular stabilizer blend, has been added to the database.
